Growing forward with the HBGTP

The Historic and Botanic Garden Trainee Programmes (HBGTP) are once again open for applications from committed and passionate horticulturalists.

The HBGTP place promising horticultural trainees at notable gardens throughout Great Britain. The schemes represent a fantastic opportunity to work at some of the UK’s most beautiful and elegant gardens. Those accepted onto the schemes earn a salary while gaining experience and qualifications.

For some past trainees, it’s no exaggeration to say that the schemes have proved life-changing. Participation in the schemes enabled them to begin a new career  – one in which they felt they had reached their true vocation. More broadly, the schemes help transfer the knowledge and skills needed in tending our most important gardens, ensuring that this vital aspect of our heritage is preserved.

Sanders Web Works is delighted to have continued involvement with this fantastic project. In our most recent work, we improved the website’s integration with social media, updated maps, and reorganised the site content. These changes should have benefits for the site’s search rankings, as well as improving user experience.

If you know of talented horticulturalists that might be interested in the schemes, please point them in the direction of the updated website.
